William Anderson

William (Bill), was born in Melbourne in 1951. He grew up in Chelsea and attended Aspendale Technical School before commencing work as survey draftsman in the department of the Post Master in 1969.

Bill studied photography both part-time and full-time at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology between 1972 and 1977. He then worked as a professional photographer for some years before owning an antique store in Williamstown. At that time he supplemented his income with work as a French Polisher.

Bill started painting 2003. His first sale was “St. Paul’s Rock” at Aspects Gallery in 2004. He has sold about ten paintings to date, mostly seascapes, and about eighty photographic prints of images from the southern Peninsula. He has exhibited at Sorrento Rotary, Flinders and Dromana.

Bill retired in 2010 to paint full time. “Did I say retire?”

He currently paints with Studio Sorrento and the Mornington Peninsula Plein Air Painters
