This Collage of Sorrento landmarks has been painted on 9 x 5 boards by Studio Sorrento Artists.

The first Australian 9 by 5 Impression Exhibition was an art exhibition in Melbourne, Australia. The exhibition was opened on 17 August 1889 in Buxton’s Rooms on Swanston Street and featured 183 works; the majority of which were painted by the Australian impressionists Tom Roberts, Charles Conder and Arthur Streeton. The exhibition was named for the dimensions of most of the paintings— 9 by 5 inches (23 cm × 13 cm), the size of a cigar box lid upon which many of the works were painted— and the Impressionist inspiration for the works.[1]Website information: studiosorrento.org

Studio Sorrento Art Groups are having a 9 x 5 Art Exhibition on the Queens Birthday Weekend in June, opening night is on the 10th starting at 7pm – 10pm, light supper provided, Cost $10.00. It continues on Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 10am – 4pm, entry $2.00.

This year Sorrento Photography Group has put together a Collage of Sorrento, for the Studio Sorrento Artists to paint, and they did a fantastic job, as you can see.
The Artists are busy painting 9 x 5 paintings of this collage, to be put together and exhibited at the Art Show.

Studio Sorrento’s Art Exhibition began with a wonderful opening night, where everyone had a great night. We would like to thank all the Artists and Photographers who exhibited their work we wouldn’t have a show without you, and to the Artists who sold Congratulation
We would like to thank the Seaside Singers for entertaining us, which everyone enjoyed.
To all our volunteers we would like to thank you for your hard work, before, during, and after the show, we couldn’t do it without you.
To the public who came through the door and gave us such wonderful comments we thank you too, you all helped raise $850.00 for the SAC. Thanks from the committee of Studio Sorrento.
We would like to thank Gye Twyford for painting the blue board around the water tank, it looks terrific, well done Gye.
Studio Sorrento are having their Art Exhibition over the Cup Weekend from the 31st October – 3rd November 2016.
There is some fantastic Art being produced by our Artists, and this year we are also having Photography joining us.
Denise has created 3 wonderful ships, out of Flotsam & Jetsam and other bits and pieces.
